Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation is an over 1 million square foot manufacturing facility in Kernersville, NC. As a joint venture company formed in 1988 between John Deere and Hitachi, the factory produces Deere and Hitachi branded hydraulic excavators for the North, Central, and South American markets.
The headquarters in Kernersville, NC consists of various functional job areas including Accounting, Supply Management, Information Systems, Customer Support, Design Engineering and Production Operation areas. The Operations areas include Welding, Machining, Logistics, Paint, Assembly, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing Engineering.
The state-of-the-art factory uses high quality materials, advanced welding robotics, CNC machining centers, plasma plate-cutting machines and cranes capable of transporting as much as 25 tons. Each manufactured machine is made-to-order, made possible by a lean manufacturing system combined with a thorough quality assurance process.
Operations of Deere-Hitachi are housed in two facilities across 145 acres: the Main Campus and the East Campus. Main Campus processes include plate processing, welding, machining, and paint, and the East Campus location focuses on assembly and logistic operations.

In 1998, Deere-Hitachi expanded business with the production of Forestry Swing Machines, opening Deere-Hitachi Specialty products in Langley, BC.
Deere-Hitachi Specialty Products produces both John Deere and Hitachi branded forestry excavators and log loaders for a global market, with specific concentration in the Pacific Northwest of North America. Manufacturing located in Langley, BC gives DHSP the competitive advantage of a close proximity to a large volume of logging customers and local dealers for site visits, direct feedback, and ease of collaboration between customers and our engineering teams.
Deere-Hitachi Specialty Products is a 115 thousand square foot facility with core competencies in Logistics, Assembly, Paint and Engineering. It is comprised of a diverse workforce within Design engineering, Quality engineering, Manufacturing engineering, Supply Management and Production.
